We do everything in our power to ensure that we work with all our partners on a sustainable basis. For instance, supply and service contracts along our entire value chain incorporate ESG criteria wherever possible. That means we only purchase renewable electricity, and our properties are heated in part with net-zero natural gas, with any CO2 emissions offset by appropriate sustainability projects.
We also encourage our tenants to actively contribute to protecting the environment and offer them, for example, more favourable conditions via our green electricity contract. And by converting to smart energy metres in 2021, we are making energy consumption transparent and easier to manage.
What’s more, we offer “green leases” to encourage our tenants to take specific responsibilities with regards to the sustainable and socially compatible use and occupation of our properties. By doing so, we are also ensuring that sustainability criteria are transparent and measurable for our tenants, too.
